The aim of this round table meeting will be to discuss a civil society initiative and grassroots movement focused on improving Breastfeeding in SA and the formation of a civil society network to work towards improving and promoting breastfeeding in the country.
It is common knowledge that breastfeeding statistics shows the we as a country are seriously lacking progress in this focus area.
Although the main focus of the first session will be on Breastfeeding and led by Dr. Pillay, the second session will focus on the establishment of a CSO Network for Nutrition and Food Security in SA.
There is a clear need for a network focusing on Food Security and Nutrition to enable grassroots stakeholders to speak with one voice, co-ordinate efforts and collect data. Normalise Breastfeeding SA's partner organization Gateway Health Institute will lead this sessi
